Alice Boman

Back in 2013 Alice Boman sent a demo, containing a collection of home recorded songs, to Adrian recordings and the unbelievable happened: Her label was so overwhelmed by those five beautiful tracks, that there was simply no other way but releasing „Skisser“ on the spot. It’s the spontaneity, the directness, the dreamy soundscapes that make these intimate songs so incredibly hypnotizing.

With „EP II“ Alice released another collection of (studio-)recordings last summer, and played a Mini-Tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland this winter, before she would return home to work on new songs, so there might be a new full length record coming up soon!

We met her for a session at one of three pianos (!) of one of the oldest bars in Kreuzberg: the one and only Yorckschlösschen! Since the owner Olaf Dähmlow turned it from a common corner pub into a cosy place back in the 1980’s, the bar offers an extensive live program for all jazz&blues-aficionados, and it’s definitely worth a visit for everybody else with a thing for pubs with an authentic and timeless atmosphere.

Here lovely Alice played a couple of songs off her first two EPs, and last but not least a beautiful cover of The War On Drugs’ “Red Eyes”.

And you can win this little souvenir from our session:
