Charter

Clean authentic rock you might call it, but when we met the very nice Antti and Tilman for Berlin Sessions even the black leather jacket couldn’t hide their softer, more poppy side. Their sound is not only influenced by the characters and backgrounds of the four musicians, living and playing music in London, Berlin and Finland. It’s the warm voice of singer Antti that gives you goose bumps.

Charter was formed in late 2009 in Berlin. The band started playing gigs all around the capital in early 2010 and gained very quickly an interest from labels, bookers and the media. As a support act for The Boxer Rebellion, they toured across Germany, while convincing audiences and journalists. As the hype was building up, Charter played on the rooftop of Park Inn Hotel (120 metres) – the highest Berlin concert ever. For Charter the year 2011 looks bright as they are releasing their debut album.

We met the Berlin based band at the old office from Czech Airlines. Today these rooms belong to the famous CSA Bar in Friedrichshain. The Band is perfoming the song “Stain” which was released on their EP at the end of January. The album “Impossible You”, produced by John Fryer (Him, Depeche Mode) will hit the stores on  September 9.
