Freddy Fudd Pucker

If you try saying this artist’s name in the same pace he strums his guitar, it’s hard not to mix up initials: Freddy Fudd Pucker, Freddy Fudd Pucker, Freddy Pudd F….. The man behind the pseudonym that is so hard to pronounce is Tom Young, who was enlightened with his one-band-name when using the bathroom during a visit of the eponymous brewery in his native New Zealand. He left his home country a couple of years ago to spread his raging thrash-folk songs throughout the world, touring mainly Europe when he finally discovered the best place to live (and where the beer is the best and the cheapest):

Since 1,5 years Tom aka Freddy Fudd Pucker has been living in Berlin, where he writes and performs acoustic music with his guitar, tambourine and suitcase-drum that is at least as energetic as a punk rock show.

Before he’s off to Australia and New Zealand where he’ll be working on a new EP, we met him for a beer and a session at the probably only bar in Berlin where you may have your drink in a bathtub: the wonderful Frollein Langner in Neukölln, a paradise for non-smokers with a thing for comfy sofas.

And you can win this little souvenir from our session:
