Kafka Tamura

Kafka Tamura is a German-British Soundcloud love story: Vocalist Emma Dawkins was only 16 when she started writing songs at her home in Southampton England and put them up on Soundcloud. It wasn’t much later that Patrick Bongers and Gabriel Häuser – two musicians from Leipzig – discovered Emmas work online and were blown away. A couple of mail exchanges later their first single “Somewhere Else” was born. But it was only in 2013 that the new band members finally met in real life. Since then Kafka Tamura have grown a loyal fan base and signed with the Milky Chance label Lichtdicht Records.

This hot summer day in August we met the trio at Spreearche – a swimming restaurant at the riverside of Berlin Köpenick – to play a secret gig on its sunny deck to celebrate the release of their debut album “Nothing To Everyone”.

And the special location did more than justice to the special occasion: Equipped with sun glasses and the shining Spree in the back, Kafka Tamura conquered the heat and performed “No Hope”, “Lullabies” and “Somewhere Elese” for their delighted audience.
