Pause Applause

In order to play a proper acoustic performance for us, Pause Applause did not just switch from e-guitar to an acoustic one, but also brought a rather unusual instrument to their Berlin Session: equipped with a couple of empty jam jars, beer glasses and a bucket of water plus more or less half on hour of careful tuning, they exchanged their synths for a fabulous DIY-Glassglockenspiel! The Berlin based band from New Zealand played their amazingly catchy indie pop hymns for us at Rosengarten, a cosy candle-lit bar on Manteuffelstrasse in Kreuzberg, that used to be a jewish butcher shop back in the days and then housed a turkish mens café for a while. With its new owner Selina Maluche the space now has become a lovely pub for all genders that seems like it has been there forever.

Pause Applause have released a fantastic EP in Summer 2014 and it’s available for free download here!
