Some might have already known and appreciated her talent as a part of the icelandic indie-folk-band Seabear. Sóley, who for some (for us simply incomprehensible) reason once thought that her voice just wasn´t made for singing, luckily made up her mind a while ago, and started making her own songs. At the latest after the release of her first solo album „We Sink“ in 2011, sóleys audience is steadily growing, appreciating her works of dark lyrics, gloomy and sometimes even sinister songs and not least the distinctive timbre of her enchanting voice.

We met sóley at Piano Salon Christophori, a workshop that is mainly dedicated to the caring restoration of historical grand pianos during the day, but also hosts chamber music nights and jazz shows, where the musicians are playing the repaired instruments and fill the workshop with melodies at night. The perfect match thus for our session with soley, who released her piano centered record „Krómantík“ in July!

Before she´ll will get back to finishing the recordings of her new record (release in early 2015) there´s still a chance to see her at Iceland Airwaves(Nov 5th-9th)!
